And so we begin our travels again. Actually, our trip begins on Thursday, January 12 when BlackLane cancels in an email the night before. Annie discovers that message after we returned from Mel’s diner the evening before; She scrambles and gets Pascal to pick us up as scheduled 10:30 AM. Off to Miami airport where our travels are smooth to Los Angeles where we meet Mary Beth and Bob and onto Melbourne. Luggage, customs and travel to the Park Hyatt are all without incident. Yeah! BTW, we lost a day over the dateline and so it is now Saturday, January 14. We have dinner that night at a fancy Italian restaurant, Di Stassi. After a well-deserved rest we wake up on Sunday, January 15 and head off to St. Patrick’s Cathedral for 9:30 Mass followed by a very nice buffet breakfast at the hotel. We then spent time on walking tour around Melbourne. The grand voyage gala dinner is that night and while there were no cocktails, we did enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres and an average dinner. Excited to begin our voyage, we finished another great buffet breakfast on January 16th and board the bus to the Silver Muse. We managed to meet all the qualifications from vaccinations to negative Covid test etc. and board our home for the next two months. After unpacking for nearly 2 hours we meet Mary Beth and Bob at for cocktails in the panorama lounge and onto dinner at La Terraza. I believe we were all overserved and paid for the next morning.
