This morning we get off the ship and walk along this fabulous harbor. We go by the Nobel Peace prize building and along the waterfront, crowded with outside cafes/restaurants and a former prison turned into art galleries. We walked along the grubby docklands that is now an urban-cool hangout spot with beautiful condo buildings that overlook the harbor.
We then go back to the ship and took a coach tour of the city and its surrounds. Highlights included the ski jump where Anni and I experienced the simulator – her idea , of course WOW. And a good idea it was - Bob took a great video!! The other surprising treat was the vast park – home to incredible, seductive, thought provoking, "circle of life" sculptures. Sculptor Gustav Vigeland’s vision was one of the circle of life – from birth to youth - Love and sex - Middle age - families, old age and death. It was something to see, but difficult to capture on film. It all made you feel and think! The parks were beautiful and we both were so happy to have seen these beautiful works of art.
