On the morning of May 11, we are awakened by a group of about 20 young people who are not happy that our beautiful ship is polluting their air! They are banging drums, playing music and yelling at us. Just like home!
We then discover that Sherry is not feeling well (food poisoning) and will not be joining us on our scenic city bus tour and wine tasting. Our tour guide provides interesting highlights for Bordeaux which is synonymous with the wine trade and is the fifth largest city and capital of Southwest France. The history is fascinating as this area was settled over 2,000 years ago. Naturally the history includes monks, Romans, wars and romance and, of course, winemaking! Our tour includes a stop at the history of Wine Museum – Cite’ du Vin. After indulging our wine historical appetite for almost 2 hours, we take a lift to the 8th floor wine tasting room and look down upon the Silver Moon docked a kilometer away on the river and enjoy our wine. And so our tour concludes and we return to the ship for lunch and relaxing poolside nap. Dinner alone as Sherry has now been quarantined for 24 hours; compliments of the medical department. Silversea Showtime presents some “Simply Divine Duets” for our listening pleasure poolside and some surprise dancing.
